Pleurotus ostreatus

This is the archetypal Oyster Mushroom, an absolute classic and found throughout the temperate forests of the world. Chances are you’ve spotted one of these in the wild whilst walking through your local woodland. Tender in texture with a lovely meaty taste, they are a delicious addition to any meal where a mushroom might be needed. We love them fried until crispy in a pan, served on sourdough toast, but they’re equally at home in a risotto, a pho or as a mushroomy meat alternative. They are a real swiss army knife of a mushroom and good for you too.
