Our 1:4 Triple Extract Chaga Mushroom Tincture is extracted by hand from the strange & mysterious Inonotus obliquus right here in West Kernow. It’s one of the few fungi that we can’t grow in captivity. Our Chaga is sustainably foraged for us in the forests of the Scottish Highlands.

This concentrated 1:4 Chaga mushroom tincture (one part mushroom for every four of liquid) is crafted for those looking to incorporate functional mushrooms into their daily wellness ritual.

Made using sustainably foraged Chaga from Scottish birch forests, alongside water and organic ethanol, this tincture reflects a commitment to responsible sourcing, simplicity and quality.

To produce a broad-spectrum extract, we use a three-stage hot water, cold water and alcohol extraction process. This traditional method is designed to draw out a wide range of naturally occurring mushroom compounds, resulting in a tincture suitable for everyday use.

100% vegan and cruelty-free — no fillers, additives or artificial ingredients.

Benefits

A Closer Look

Chaga is a distinctive mushroom traditionally found growing on birch trees across Northern and boreal forests, including regions of Scotland, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Siberia.

Across these regions, Chaga has long been prepared as a nourishing drink, valued for its deep, earthy character and connection to seasonal forest life. In some Northern cultures, Chaga preparations were known as Woodpecker Tea, named after the birds often seen feeding around Chaga growths and was historically used as a coffee alternative, including during periods of scarcity such as wartime.

Chaga mushrooms (Inonotus obliquus) naturally contain:

  • Polysaccharides
  • Triterpenes
  • Melanin
  • Amino acids and micronutrients

Nutritional composition may vary depending on growing conditions and harvesting practices.

What We Can’t Say (but customers often ask us)

Does Chaga support immunity or overall health?
You may see Chaga discussed online in relation to immune health or general wellbeing. However, under UK regulations, food supplements cannot be marketed with claims that they support immune function or overall health unless those claims are specifically authorised. For this reason, we don’t make health or immune claims about this product.

Is Chaga considered medicinal?
Although Chaga has a long history of use in traditional food and drink preparations, this product is sold as a food supplement, not a medicine. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition.

Is Chaga linked to antioxidants, melanin or skin health?
Chaga naturally contains compounds such as melanin and other constituents that are often discussed in scientific and botanical research. However, food supplements cannot be marketed with claims that they provide antioxidant effects or support skin health unless those claims are specifically authorised. For this reason, we don’t make claims relating to antioxidants, skin appearance or skin function. We share information about Chaga’s natural composition for educational and transparency purposes only, not as evidence of cosmetic or health effects.

Why is Chaga associated with Northern forest cultures?
Chaga has historically been gathered and prepared as a food-based drink across Northern and boreal forest regions, including parts of Scotland, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Siberia. In Finland, Chaga preparations were sometimes referred to as“woodpecker tea”, named after the birds often seen around Chaga growths on birch trees. During periods of scarcity, including wartime, Chaga was used as a coffee alternative. We share this as cultural and historical context rather than evidence of health effects.

What does “sustainably foraged in Scotland” mean?
Our Chaga is responsibly and sustainably foraged from Scottish birch forests, with care taken to protect both the host trees and surrounding ecosystems. Sustainable foraging focuses on selective harvesting, long regrowth periods and minimal environmental impact, helping preserve forest health over time.

Why don’t you make stronger claims like other Chaga brands?
Advertising standards vary by country, and not all brands follow UK food supplement regulations. We choose to comply fully with UK and ASA guidance, focusing on provenance, sustainability and craftsmanship rather than unapproved health or medicinal claims.

So why do people choose Chaga?
Many people choose Chaga as part of a balanced lifestyle, valuing its deep connection to Northern forest traditions, its distinctive character and the care involved in sustainable foraging and extraction.

As with any supplement, individual experiences vary.

Final Note
We believe responsible communication builds trust. By being clear about what we can and can’t say, we aim to share the story and composition of Chaga honestly, without exaggerated promises or misleading claims.
